Old African Dan Mask – Côte d’Ivoire – Professor’s Estate!
Old and antique wooden mask from the Dan Tribe of Cote d’Ivoire and Liberia.  This was part of a group of old African masks, from a College Professor’s estate. Very expressive mask, with squinted eyes and mouth that appears to be speaking. Thickly carved from a heavy, dense wood. Definitely shows it’s age, with several old, large chips on the rear.  Previous owner’s collection number

Purchased at auction years ago, this is part of my personal collection I am selling to downsize. This mask has been packed away, and it’s time for someone else to enjoy his beauty.
